Rooted in Wellness was founded by Corine Newsome, a passionate garden and wellness enthusiast, who realized that the path to better health begins at home. After losing her mother to diabetes, Corine sought to understand the disease and its root causes. This journey inspired her to help others recognize the importance of what they eat, why they eat it, and the source of their food. Corine's gardening journey began as a volunteer at her community garden and later led her to become a gardener and Garden Director with the nonprofit Health in the Hood. With over 10 years of gardening experience, she noticed a disconnect in her community: although she could grow and share fresh vegetables, many members still struggled to trust the food they saw growing right before them. Today, Corine is dedicated to bridging this gap by teaching the benefits of growing your own food, sharing health and wellness tips, and building sustainable gardens that empower individuals and communities to take control of their well-being.
We started Rooted in Wellness Initiative 10 years ago with a mission to provide high-quality gardening services to our community. With our passion for nature and our extensive knowledge of plants, we have been able to turn our clients' yards into beautiful outdoor spaces.
